AnimSchool Progress

Kevin Ridgway AnimSchool Progress from Kevin Ridgway on Vimeo.
I decided to try an AnimSchool class this year and see how it was. It was pretty cool even though I ended up being super busy the entire time I was taking the class on other projects. It was a fun class with a fun instructor, and I guess I'm pretty happy on how this piece turned out.

Cupcake Color Complete!

Cupcakes - October's Project 2013 from Kevin Ridgway on Vimeo.

This was my project of the month for October. I felt like doing some 2d animation, so i used PAP 4.0 for the roughs, and decided to learn some Toon Boom for the clean up and coloring. And my friend Ryan Ingram wanted to do the environment.

Villain Action Samples

Wanted to do some action stuff since it has been a while since i did any. So I spent the past 4 days working on these, trying to get some realistic looking movements and proper weighting.

Cycles Exercise 11-07-2013

from Kevin Ridgway on Vimeo.
Did some quick cycles today to keep up with a weekly exercise structure that I am trying to do. I want to get back into some more action/game animation while working on more character animation as well.

New-ish Animation WIP

Here is some progression of what I have been working on this month. It started out nice and short... and turning into a 30 second piece -_-  I was going to also do an 11 second club entry this month, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Woodward WIP

I think I'm going to just end this test.  It was only supposed to be a two week test to learn PAP, and I have been spending too much time working on it....

Woodward WIPs

Some more progress, about 2 more hours added.

Progression Animations

I forgot to post the before and after revisions for my animation tests from earlier this year.  As you can see... I ended up redoing all of them from scratch. :/

Woodward Inspiration WIP 2

Haven't really had much time to work on this at all.  This is about 7 hours into It maybe? And I am getting allot more familiar with PAP. Still enjoying it.

Woodward Inspired WIP

I have had a little free time to play round in PAP 4.0 and decided to do a little test inspired by Ryan Woodward to get used to it, and to get back into the swing of 2d. This is about 3 hours into it... I kept having to start over because of saving mistakes.

Recent animations Tests

Here are some tests I have been working on the past two months. I have been trying to get more animations done before I do more models and lighting tests and whatnot...

The new Child Lift animation is the one that I am working on now.

Dialogue

Dialogue from Kevin Ridgway on Vimeo.
... Thought this dialogue was going to be quick and easy... It was the first time I did it. But then I got some advice from my professor and got super busy at work and what should have taken me 3 days at most ended up taking me a month to get this far.... I want to work on a more fun dialogue next I have a chance to do one.

Bathroom Billy Test

Bathroom Billy from Kevin Ridgway on Vimeo.
I was coming up with something to do a few months back and thought of this idea. I thought it would be funny at first, but then the more i worked on it, the more uncomfortable it was to animate this, until I just had to stop and leave it as it is. I didn't want to do any lighting or texturing or anything on it. But maybe if I did make the environment bright it would have a more pleasant feeling.
